Right, lets see if my computer decides to freeze on me mid post………last entry I’d managed to get most of it written when the PC decided to throw a wobbler and not do as it was told…..stupid machine!
Where was I??  Well last week I started Boxercise classes – goodness knows why I thought it would be a good idea…..but I signed up and went along and really enjoyed it.  Was hard work, but definitely worth it, was feeling the effects still on Saturday and the class was on Thursday!

We also went for a walk around Ellon Ellon Circular Walk Information

It was a really lovely walk and so lovely as it’s the area my husband grew up in so he could tell me all about bits and pieces and point out where he used to go play etc.  The dogs certainly seemed to like it, and it was nice to spend time with my in-laws as they’d just come back from a week away in Spain.

The Knitting Group at work is going well, we’ve got a good 8 or so people interested, and others coming up with fab ideas for charities and projects to look into.  We’ve got a good collection of hats and mittens to donate to the local maternity hospital, as well as some charities that accept handmade goods.  I’m really pleased with the contributions and the eager people wanting to join in.
Can’t seem to get the pictures to upload at the moment……but we have some lovely hats in a variety of colours and patterns – everyone is desperate to create something different from the same pattern and to make their own stamp on the items – it’s touching to see the pride everyone takes in their work.

We seem to be having a heat wave here at the moment, its been in the 20ish degrees and slightly lower since Saturday – pretty unheard of here!  Usually we’ve got rain, grey skies and well gales! ahahaha up until a few months ago we had regular snow showers and weather chaos!  I know it won’t continue, but it’s lovely to see the sun again!

Must get some pictures uploaded when I can of all the lovely items we have to donate to the hospital and to charity.
Right, back to the finance lectures……..*yawn*

….you’re guarenteed to slip and fall on your arse, well if you’re me then it’s a dead cert!  Bloody snow and ice combined with a powerful dog do not make for a fun walk in the woods, much prefer walking the puppy, she doesn’t pull on her lead and she’s so light compared to the massive lump known as Hamish!

Working on a scarf at the moment with an interwoven sorta pattern to it, it looks really pretty, especially in Sirdar Crofter DK (Rambler Rose), mainly out of ends of wool from knitting hats,  Making it a narrow scarf, only 34 cast on, but it looks pretty.

Ran out of the chunky wool I was knitting a shawlette in, need to wait for more to arrive, it needs to hurry up!
Also trawling Ebay for knitting patterns, found some on Ravelry, but the ones I like are for Circ needles and I just can’t quite master the circs!  poop!

Was so proud on Tuesday, a dear friend passed an exam and is now a Chartered Management Accountant.  Fingers crossed I can get things sorted and start my CIMA soon and then I will be an Accountant too (here’s hoping!)

Need to find a memory card for the camera so I can get some pictures of the recent knits, 2 very pretty slouchy hats in Crofter DK, one in blues and one in pinks.  Wonder what I can knit next…..?! tee hee the list is endless, and I suppose I could start working on the knitted gifts to force on to people throughout the year!  mwhahahahahah

It’s a miserable day here, rain, high winds, and a huge dog that’s frightened of it all.  Doesn’t make knitting very easy that’s for sure.  Hamish has decided that as well as being scared of sheep, horses, cows, bubble wrap and puppies, he’s also afraid of the wind…….hmmmm scardey dog!

On a side note, I’m working on the scarf for Max’s Christmas, you can’t really see in the picture, but there are oatmeal and white stripes as well as a blue one before the huge blue section.  Once the blue section is a decent enough length I will mirror the oatmeal/white/blue stripes at the other end.  This should go nicely with the oatmeal mittens and the blue snowflake hat.

Ordered a book on circluar knitting, really fancy trying knitting socks and Christmas stockings – had to buy circular needles too!  Can’t wait for it all to arrive as the circ. needle I have is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to long/big to knit with, it’s like 100cm and I only need one that’s teeny for the socks etc lol

Discovered some fab craft blogs this morning, lots of printing & card ones as well as knitting ones – enjoying reading through the back posts – might get another cuppa and read a bit more

So far I’m 1/3 through the second snowflake hat……and then I think it will be onto the next Christmas presents…..so far my list is:

  1. Snowflake hat for baby Max
  2. Bedsocks for Mam & Mother in Law
  3. Hat & Scarf set for Step Dad
  4. Beanie for Brother in Law
  5. Scarf and Beret for Sister in Law

Can’t think of anyone else that would apprecaite or make use of a knitted gift.
Reminds me, need to get the sewing machine out and get all the “handmade” labels sewn up and ready to attach to all the finished creations

Pictures of all finished creations to follow!

Anyone got ideas of what else would make a good knitted gift?

Woohoo I’ve completed my first Christmas knit!!
It’s a lovely wee snowflake bonnet that I knitted from a pattern in Knit Now magazine 🙂 and I’m so pleased with it!  Just need to make another one in a slightly bigger size now………..

On a side note! My lovely husband bought me a slanket today so I can be wrapped up and warm and still knit – yay!!

Since I’ve been put on Garden Leave from work I decided to fill my time wisely, so I’m catching up on old movies and knitting…..never a bad combination!  Following on from the previous post, I’ve been working away on the Preemie Bonnets…..rather proud of them, even if I say so myself tee hee

What do you think?  I even made a wee pair of mittens to go with one of the hats 🙂

The Woolly Brew: tiny hats update: We’ve got 35 hats for Ninewells in Dundee!

Been knitting away like mad recently after seeing this on The Woolly Brew’s website.  Its for a fabulous cause and a good way to clear out the wool stash!

It’s got me thinking about what other organisations out there would appreciate charitable knitted donations?  Worth having a look in the local area methinks!

On a side note, been working on a patchwork blanket with a difference.  Recently got hold of some samples of 200 knitted blocks for blankets, throws and afghans so been trying new techniques and seaming them together to make a funky blanket – it will always do for the dog or even in the caravan if it gets too chilly.
